Bikes, Blues, BBQ & Hot Rods?

We started today with our Saturday morning soccer game.

Conlee and William shared a morning snack.  They were literally feeding each other!

Crawford was excited that he got to kick off the game!

Later in the afternoon – we headed to the mall to Bikes, Blues, BBQ & Hot Roads too.  Bo made a great call to skip the Parade of Power on Dickson!  There were so many bikes at the mall that the kids had no idea they were missing a thing.

The Razorback car was the biggest hit with the kids.

Bo preferred the motorized coolers.  What a great thing for tailgating.

We ran in the mall to pick up a gift.  The kids cracked me up – they held hands as they walked through the mall.  They really are best friends and I love it.

Speaking of brothers and sisters being best friends – Matt came to eat dinner with us.  He got in some snuggle time with the kids while watching Peter Pan!

I busted out the immersion blender to make an amazing sauce for some double-cut pork chops.  Some parmesan mashed potatoes and asparagus rounded out our gourmet meal!  I love, love, love to cook up a big elaborate meal.  So glad it’s getting cold so we can start making “hearty” meals!

A brand NEW Chuck E’s!!!!

We knew the minute the new Chuck E Cheese’s opened we’d be there.  We had to go to the old one because the kids loved it.  But, I had visions of clean, open spaces – not the dark, dingy that I was the old one.

While we waited on Bo to get home, we played play-do in the driveway.

Next stop, Bo had to get a haircut.  Good thing his “salon” is in a caboose – the kids were in heaven.

FINALLY, it was time to get to Chuck E’s.  Right when we walked in – who did we see – Chuck E himself.  Crawford is a HUGE fan, Conlee likes to wave but she’s NOT giving him a hug :)

I hope the gazillion pics look like we had 1/2 as much fun as we did.  It was so nice and so fun.  There were tons of games for both kids to play!

We stopped by to visit J-J and Sue-Sue before heading home.  J-J had been fishing – so there were fish and a boat to play with.  I’d say this is one of their top 5 days ever :)

Above – Crawford sporting the Dracula glow in the dark teeth he “won” at Chuck E’s.  Love, love, love family night!

Conlee’s First Hair Cut

So far my kids are on the exact same milestone chart.  So much so, that Crawford had his first hair cut when he was 22 months.  It was time for Conlee to keep up.  Most people roll their eyes when I said she needed a cut – but the kid was sporting the biggest mullet I’ve ever seen.  When it’s wet – it hits the middle of her back.  I finally convinced Mrs. Cristal that it was time.  Here’s before…

During…(she loved it!)

After…(it’s a BIG difference)!

There were gorgeous flowers next door and I envisioned a great pic of my two blonde kids all dressed in orange (by accident).  Well, this is what I got…

Crawford cooperated at least!

041

It’s Bikes Blues and BBQ this week.  I’m still shocked that I was able to get a parking spot (Shag is a block off of Dickson).  We milled around for a bit just checking out the bikes on the block.

042

Which one doesn’t belong.  For those of me that really know me – can I get some props for the reverse in parking???

043

I wanted to take Con to Bliss (our Shag tradition) but it was lunch.  She happily settled for Chick-fil-A!

044

And I got the pic of the kids together that I so wanted!  And didn’t I tell you Con’s hair was better?

Before nap, we had to stop by and pick up our dear friend Wrigley.  A month later I still look for him at least 3 times a day.  The kids like to remind me he’s in heaven – but even at times they forget.  Con stood at the back door and yelled for him earlier this week :(  But kids will be kids and they are already frequently asking when they can get their new puppies (they each want their own!).

The plan is to take him to the farm next weekend and spread his ashes there.  That’s where his mom, daddy and brothers & sisters are all.  They didn’t make it half as long as he did (so is the life of a dog on the farm) but he would have loved it there!
