Thanksgiving Feast

After nap time, we got the kids dressed and ready to head to Sue-Sue's. Turns out Conlee HATES the bows that go with her dress and she's not a big fan of the one in her hair either! I tried to take some family shots before we left, but between the bows and snack time - I didn't luck out.The only picture of the evening with all 3 bows in tact (well the one in her hair is jacked up) and a full view of the adorable dress!
Uncle Matt & Court joined us. They'd already had lunch with her family and so it was their 2nd Thanksgiving of the day.

Sue-Sue's gorgeous table.

One of the gorgeous turkeys (yes we had 2)!

The "natives" got restless as we waited to eat.
Bo and Crawford played football and didn't seem to notice that it was kind of chilly out.
Conlee was ready to eat. She jumped into Crawford's booster!
After a big meal, Crawford wanted to play some more football. So, he borrowed a sweatshirt from Sue-Sue and they headed outside in the dark.
Matt and I decided that just the 2 of us would head to Twist to visit Babe & Pops. A 2 year old and a 1 year old don't make for a lot of peace and quiet. So, Bo is going to be Mr. Mom! We've got a huge cooler packed and are leaving bright and early in the morning. I can't wait to see my Daddy!

Hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving Morn'

We started "decking" the halls indoor last night. I had no idea that Bo caught some pics of me and the kids going through last years Christmas cards!I'm so glad he did because how cute is this?
We eat Thanksgiving dinner not lunch, so this morning we put the trees up and decorated while we watched the Macy's parade. I have NEVER had Christmas up until the day AFTER Thanksgiving - but I'm here to tell you - it feels good to be done and enjoying it!

This sums up how we've effectively "blended" the holidays.
The big hit so far have been the snow globes. The both LOVE them!
Jumping in the shower now to get ready for our family get together! Haven't had a bite to eat all day - so I literally can't wait to dive in.

Jabber Jaws

It's amazing - in one week - Conlee has started walking and talking! She says bye-bye, cheese (on cue with camera pointed), more, uh-oh, "I can't do it" (not the full words, but it sounds just like when Crawford says it and she says it when she's mad and really can't do something), and of course - Momma and Daddy! She can even blow kisses. I adore this age!!!!!

Matt and I took the above video while we were cooking Thanksgiving dinner today. We made dressing, sweet potatoes, corn pudding and squash casserole. Sue-Sue will have the rest!

It's going to be a difficult Thanksgiving because Babe & Pops couldn't drive up because Pops is still in the hospital. We found out today that the blockage to his liver is indeed cancer. To say we are shocked is putting it mildly. However, we are hopeful and fully prepared to fight and beat this. We are headed their way on Friday with a cooler full of left overs to celebrate Thanksgiving with them.

We love and miss you Babe & Pops!!!!!

I found him!

Crawford jumped out of bed this morning and wanted to go find the elf!We are working on the "don't touch him" rule!
After school we painted Turkey t-shirts that Babe had made for them. Crawford did a great job! Conlee did good too, but I had to "help" a bit. Can't wait to see how cute they look!

Deck the Halls

I've never been one for decorating for Christmas BEFORE Thanksgiving, but today it was absolutely gorgeous out - so we decided to get out outside lights done.Con's not a big fan of hats, but how cute is she in it?
Crawford loved helping and believe it or not - he was a BIG help. We only meant to do the trees and not the garland. But, it we were done so early - we decided to just finish it. So tonight - our house is lit up like it's Christmas eve. Crawford loves it! Most people in our neighborhood have theirs out too - so it really gets you in the spirit.Crawford wanted a cookie for dessert and I had dough left from Conlee's party - so we made Christmas cookies!
We even broke out the Elf on a Shelf tonight. If you don't have one, you have to get one. I think Bo and I love it as much as Crawford does! Tis' the Season!

Lighting of the Square

Tonight we did one of my FAVORITE things to do in NWA - we went to the lighting of the square in Fayetteville. There were a ton of people - which actually made it that much more fun. We met J-J, Sue-Sue, Matt and Court. There was a parade that ended with Santa. Crawford is so excited about Santa this year. Conlee just watched everything in awe. There were vendors selling all sorts of "junk" and of course we bought one of everything. I love the pic below!
Conlee so wanted to be a big girl and stand on her own. But, it was way to crowded - she would have been crushed.
The pic below captures the 1 second that Conlee wore her Santa headband. She just can't stand anything on her head.

Here's what Con looked like for most of the time - trying to squirm her way out of everyone's arms.

How gorgeous!

Conlee's sippy is as big as she is!

This is what a good Saturday night looks like. Me and my kiddos watching Space Chimps! When we were putting Crawford to bed he told me he loved Santa. He then told me Santa had gone back to the North Pole to finish making the presents. He said he'd be back with the reindeers for Christmas!
