Gearing up for the 4th

First off, today’s drop off at school didn’t go so well.  We were playing in Con’s room while we waited on her teacher and she decided to take a backwards roll off of the exercise mats – straight into the handlebar of a push toy.  She FREAKED out and her cheek immediately started swelling.  When her teacher arrived she grabbed the ice pack and administered hugs :)  It looks worse in person - but if you look closely at her left cheek – you’ll see the bruise.

After dinner – the kids got a big surprise.  Our neighbor called and had something for them.  They were gone about 30 minutes and came back with…glow in the dark 4th of July tattoos.  They have a HUGE party on the 4th and we are so excited.  Babe & Pops will be here on Thursday and we will party until the 6th :)

Crawford wanted me to take a picture of his tattoos glowing – but they didn’t turn out.  He didn’t care – they were awesome and really were super bright.  Fingers crossed that Conlee can stay up for some of the fireworks!  Bath time was interesting because the kids wanted to keep their “tats” (yes that’s what they are calling them – thanks Bo!) dry :)

Baby it’s hot in HERE

Our “air guy” is someone Bo’s family has known for YEARS.  So – it’s an “old buddy” situation.  We called last night, talked to his wife – he’d be out this morning.  So, Bo worked from Fayetteville and we crossed our fingers it would be fixed.  But, Bo then talked to the “guy” and no – it would be about 6-6:30 before he could get out.  He was going to call him.  Well, 8:00 and we haven’t heard from him.  He dropped by at 5:30 and we weren’t home – so he went to a birthday party.  Really???  What happened to going to call????

Well, bless his heart – he showed up at 9:00 tonight.  Wrigley got to come inside to hang out with me while Bo and the “guy” worked on the air (we caught up on True Blood – you can tell he was a fan!).

Funny thing is – he did NOTHING to it.  Miraculously – it was so cold in here I needed a blanket.  No freon; no overheat; no explanation.  So – a big THANK YOU LORD – but PLEASE don’t let this be a fluke :)

The only bad part is – it was a HUGE tv night for us – the Bachelorette episode where someone gets exposed.  So – we are WAY late in starting a 2 hour show that I am sure will be nail biting.  Are you guys watching?  I’m a Roberto fan!  I know that I’ll find out at work tomorrow – so here we go.  I’m definitely going to be up past my bed time! :)

Sunday night burgers

Bo and I got to get away for a night – we hosted a baby shower in LR on Saturday night.  A HUGE, BIG, GINORMOUS thank you goes out to Uncle Matt for keeping the kids for us.  It’s funny – we left Saturday at 12:30 and were back Sunday by 4:00 – but it really felt like a “vacation!”

When had J-J and Sue-Sue over for dinner when we got home.  Burgers were on the menu.  After eating all of hers – Con decided she wanted to munch on J-J’s bun (the adults were eating after we put the kids down).

While we had a great night and a lot of fun – what wasn’t fun is the air went out at about 6:45.  And man, were we thankful that it rained.  It was hot, but bearable.  While J-J and Bo worked on the air – the rest of us played with the “babies.”  Crawford cracked us up.  his “baby” was named Mr. John.  He’d get “hurt” and need to see the doctor (eloquently played by me) who’s name was Doctor Hudson.  Sounds to me like we need a play date with the Kraufts :)  Love, love, love the imagination and that Conlee was in on the game.  Everything Crawford did with his baby; she followed behind and did with hers.

Pray that we don’t melt tonight and that it’s something simple.  Really don’t want vacation funds to go towards a new air conditioning unit!

Coloring book time

Today was just one of those days where the kids didn’t even want to go outside.  After a morning full of errands – we laid low this afternoon.  Conlee wanted her Princess coloring book out.  It’s so funny because Crawford literally art directs her (no Con – inside the lines; make that purple; etc.).  Love it!  Maybe he can work it SSX one day :)

Oh and it wouldn’t be a day at our house without a pic of Conlee in someone else’s shoes (mine this time!).

Swim Ranch Make-up Session

Since Crawford was in Omaha this past Saturday – Con and I went to swimming lessons by ourselves.  They were kind enough to let Crawford have a make-up session.  Turns out that Cole had one too – so Crawford and Cole got to be in the same class together.  We all had a blast!

Lipstick

I made the mistake of leaving my make-up drawer open this morning while I picked up the house before getting the kids dressed.  My sweet daughter managed to find a tube of lipstick and decided to see if it was her color.  There might be hope for my tom-boy :)

Of course, Crawford had to have his picture taken too!

Welcome Home

Conlee and I were so excited the boys were on the way home.  Bo sent me a text from a gas station where Crawford found a 4-wheeler his size.  Thank goodness it didn’t come home with him :)

Con and I used the left-overs from Cade’s party to pull together a last minute birthday/Father’s day celebration!

We even painted them a banner.

After the birthday “party” – the kids gave him the Father’s Day stuff they’d made him at school.  Loving their new school!

Bo said it was everything he’d hoped it would be.  He even got teary telling me about how much fun they had!  Priceless.

Omaha: Air and space museum

The guys took full advantage of the city and hit the air and space museum.  Crawford was so excited.
