Trick-or-Treat: Part II

I absolutely love that Halloween is on a Saturday this year. It's the first year that my mom & dad came to spend the holiday with us. Mom and I spent all morning cooking, cleaning and getting ready for a Halloween bash. The kids got dressed in their costumes right after nap time! Conlee seems to be coming down with something - but like a trooper - she hung in there for all of the festivities.
The hardest part for Crawford was waiting on his friends and waiting on the sun to go down!

Of course I tried to come up with some "themed" foods! An orange "pumpkin" cheese ball.
"Eyeball" olive-cheese bites.
The spread. It really wasn't a big party. We just did a drop in that started at 4:30 and went till 9:30!
Garon and Crawford killing time! I love that they are so close in age. We'll spend every holiday with them!
Who knew that cats & dogs could get along so well? This is Taylor and Conlee. Taylor carried Conlee all night long! They had so much fun.
Crawford got really excited when Cole and Cade got here!We tried to get something down the boys other than candy!
Mummy dogs!

So I'll say what you are thinking. Yes, Conlee who will be a year old in a week and a half looks like she is the same size as Cade who is 4 1/2 months!
FINALLY, we headed out to trick-or-treat. I had the time of my life watching the boys run. I'm already looking forward to next year.
Single file in line for the first stop. They couldn't get that you only had to say "trick-or-treat" when you rang the bell. So, they yelled it the entire time!
We ran into Barrett. Crawford insists that he's going to be an astronaut next year. Please send in your suggestions for a cute "matching" girl costume for Conlee!
Cole and Crawford held hands the entire night. Adorable.
A few houses in the neighborhood really got into it. The boys called them haunted houses. They "talked" each other into being big. "We're big. We're not scared. AAAGGGHHH!"
I was so proud of everyone. Everyone did great and had a blast!
I finally decided it was time to get Con ready for bed. Giving Lu-Lu kisses!
Of course, the kids have Halloween pj's.

Crawford's glow in the dark. I swear he had as much fun wearing these - scaring people and handing out candy to trick-or-treaters as he did going house to house!
Scaring the guys outside!

Me as a scary witch. That's right -witch, not the other word!

Tonight was just one of those nights - near perfect weather. Mid 60's so you didn't need a jacket, but the fire felt good. There was even a full moon to top it off!

As if there wasn't enough chocolate already, we made smore's.
No one could keep their hands of our little pumpkin!

I still love the fact that they both fit comfortably in my arms.
Crawford handing out candy. He loved it!

I called Crawford "Bones" because he was a skeleton. He replied, "I'm not bones, I have muscles and I'm scary."
Thanks to all our friends and family for making tonight such a fun and special night. Can't wait to see what the kids will be next year!

Trick-or-Treat: Round 1

Today was a jammed packed day. Babe kept the kids so I could grab a quick work out and then we dove into all day fun. Of course, Crawford wanted to do a "project" so we made a bat. He told me that he made it for his friend Taylor. I still wonder when the day will come when he'll make something for me?

He's big into having me "spell" his name. After nap time, Bo and I had to go to the kids' school for Parent Teacher conferences. The good news is they are both doing great. After the conferences, we dressed them up in their costumes and I took them to the trick-or-treat at my work. It was so fun seeing my co-workers with their kids all dressed up.
This is Crawford discovering his "loot" (you think he was happy?).

Conlee had a good time too!
We went and picked up Babe & Pops and headed to the square. I had no idea just what a big deal this was. It was so crowded - but so fun to see all of the kids dressed up! The very first thing we saw was the fire truck!!!
It was amazing - everyone was handing out candy. The town center had a magician, a haunted house and tons of games. We will definitely make this a Halloween tradition.
Have you ever seen a cuter puppy? I loved her paws and the nose made it.
Crawford introduced himself to everyone as "Chief Crawford."
We ran into the Rogers crew. Crawford and Cole loved showing each other the candy they'd gotten.

Crawford was smitten with Wheatley.
We had to stop by and see J-J at his work.
What other kids get to play in the back of a hearse on Halloween? :)

We hit US Pizza for dinner and of course it was yummy. I loved showing my kiddos off to everyone there.
We've already had such a great pre-Halloween, I can't wait for tomorrow!
