Thanks Crutch!

I just can't tell you how much fun I am having back at work. I feel like I am back home. It's so good to visit with old friends and to meet new friends. Of course things are crazy busy and there are crazy timelines - but it is a GREAT place to work.
One of my oldest friends from work is Crutch. His office is like a "candy store" of all things comic related (he does incredible illustrations himself). His Cars collection is amazing -and I told him Crawford would love it. So, today he surprised me with 2 cars to add to Crawford's collection (he was really disappointed that I didn't know they made a wrecked version of King).
So - thanks Crutch for making sure my kid has the "cool" stuff!
I gave him the 2 cars when we got home and he said, "Ooohh, open it!!!!"

School Easter Egg Hunt

Crawford and Conlee's school had an Easter Egg hunt this afternoon at the park. I had no idea just how much Crawford would enjoy it. It was a gorgeous day and everyone enjoyed watching the kids chase after 400 eggs!
I had to post this pic - it shows Conlee's bunny outfit (note the "tail" on her bottom and the heels of her socks).
It really got fun when they realized the eggs were filled with candy.
After all of the eggs were found - the boys chased each other for 30 minutes.
We "caught" Crawford long enough to have Amanda snap a family pic.
I made them their baskets - and hope they use them forever!
Of course I wanted Crawford to be in the pic with Conlee and me (you guys know how I am still trying to get a "good" pic of the 3 of us) - but he wasn't going to stop running long enough to take it.

Crawford might officially enjoy the Easter Bunny more than Santa - the Bunny brings chocolate :)

And They're Off...

That is Bo and I were off to Hot Springs for our first night away from the kids. We left early Saturday morning and were back on Sunday by 2:00 - but it seemed like a LOT longer. We LOVE going to the races. Matter of fact, our first "date" in the US was at the track for Sigma Nu formal. As always there were a ton of people there and it was great to visit. We met up with the Lazenby's - who had a horse running in the 9th. It was so cool to go to paddock and watch them saddle her and talk to the jockey and trainer. She didn't pull through -but it was still fun to bet her. I highly recommend the Embassy Suites if your headed that way. Free shuttle to and from; complimentary cocktail hour; made to order omelets for breakfast; the most comfy beds (or maybe it was just that we enjoyed sleeping in so much).
Thanks so much to Babe and Pops for coming to take care of the kids!!!!
Here are some pics of Scamp and a Half.
Our box with way too many loosing tickets on the floor!

Out to Eat

Babe, Pops, Bo, Crawford, Conlee and I went to the new Mexican restaurant in town - Mojitos - for dinner tonight. It was so yummy and had a great atmosphere. We couldn't believe how much Crawford ate. A bowl of cheese dip, almost a basket of chips, chicken quesadila, beans and rice. We had a great time!
Doesn't Bo look excited to be in the picture :)

Easter Pizza

Our "shape of the day" on Wednesday was "circle." So of course, when it came time to make Easter cookies - he wanted a circle and was not the least bit interested in the cute "bunny" cutters that I had. I punted and told Crawford we were going to make Easter Pizza.
Makes me laugh that his "digger" is on the counter with him.
He loves playing with the dough.
She talked to us the entire time. She's dying to get in and help.

So - this is him eating the dough off of the spatula. Oh yea - and he was eating just plain flour.
Hence the flour from head to toe.
Cream cheese frosting was our sauce.
Yummy. We used shredded coconut as our "cheese."
Reese's pieces eggs and frosting were our toppings.
He ate the "left over" toppings.
He loved that we used a pizza cutter to cut him a piece (after he mowed down his veggies at dinner).
So yummy.

Conlee's 1st Day of School

It was a day of mixed emotions around here - Conlee went to "school" (aka - daycare) for the first time today. After what we've been through (hospital, house arrest) - I just can't get my head around dropping her off at daycare. The doctor told us to expect our first "bug" within 10-20 days - I know that I'll die!
On the other hand, she seemed to LOVE it. I've mentioned how much she likes to be in the middle of the action. So, she loved looking at all of the other babies. Good news is that she's at the same school as Crawford - so drop-off/pick-ups are fast and easy. It's also only 10 minutes from my work, so I get to go nurse her and play with her at lunch. Her teachers said she had a great day and from what we can see - she made it just fine. Only "hiccup" is that she didn't take "long" naps - instead she took mini-catnaps throughout the day. Hopefully she can get used to the noise level and get back to her nap schedule.
The logistics of this morning were easy because we were all there (Bo met us for her first day). So - Bo could help "carry" all of the "stuff" and the kids. Thursday should be real fun by myself!
Right now, she's had her bath and is out like a light - and I won't be far behind her :) It's been a big day for all of us.
Crawford and Conlee ready for a big day at school.Crawford helped take Conlee to her room (this is outside the door where you have to take your shoes off). This is how we left her, playing on a play mat and talking to the teachers.

Splish,Splash - WE were taking a bath!

Working Girl!

Today is my first day back at work since having Conlee. Starting a new job at my old company - I'm so excited to see everyone!
Daycare couldn't get Conlee in on Monday's until May - so today Sue-Sue is keeping her. Tomorrow will be her first day at Crawford's school (I've got such mixed emotions about it - but my little "action" lover will love it). I'm so blessed - I'll be working part-time (Monday, Tuesday and Thursday) and I'll be home with the kids on Wednesday and Friday.
Hope everyone has a great day (wish me luck that I can make it until 5:00)!

14 Year Anniversary!

14 years ago today - Bo and I met in Cancun, Mexico on the Booze Cruise - and we've been together ever since. My how things have changed - each year has truly gotten better and better. Now, we just have to decide how to keep the Booze Cruise story away from Crawford and Conlee!

Today we "celebrated" by having a perfectly normal day with our two kiddos. We both hit the gym (separate times for babysitting duty) and then ran errands (SAM's, Wal-Mart, Target). We had dinner out at a new place in town - Louie's Bar & Grille. It was great. We had a large u-shaped booth with a 42" flat screen to ourselves (and tons around us). Crawford loved it. I couldn't think of a better way to celebrate!

I can't believe I didn't have my camera with me! So - no cute pics from dinner - but these pics from this morning are adorable. "I read, Conkey! Conkey, dis is Elmo." Adorable.
Our "self portrait" to mark the date. Please note - a few beers and wine were consumed before this was taken! Man - I love this guy. Tomorrow - I'll scan in the pics from the night we met so we can see how "good" we look after 14 years!

I Scream, You Scream

We had a treat after dinner tonight - we went to Cold Stone. Despite the fact that it was cold today - it was the first day of Spring - so we decided to celebrate.Yes, Crawford liked - scratch that -LOVED it. Before you ask, that is black marker on his forehead. Not sure why he insists on coloring himself.
That smile on my face is sheer joy. Peanut butter cup perfection is soooo yummy.

Conlee did decide to wake up and enjoy the view.

Bo and I are fully considering using trips to Cold Stone to bribe Crawford to be on his best behavior!
