1st Christmas “project”

It may just be November 30th, but I just couldn’t help breaking out our first Christmas project.  Hate that I didn’t get a pic of the kids “doing” these.  I was just proud we got around to them since today was jammed packed with errand after errand.

Hope these are on my tree forever!

Pinterest

Shout out to Pinterest for being addictive and so totally cool!  Love the Elf ideas and seeing what I can do to make them “mine!”  Started with Ralphie chillin in the car…

…ended with him on the beach making sandcastles!

Ralphie

I’m having a blast coming up with fun ways to surprise the kids with where Ralphie will be in the morning when they wake up.  Here’s where they’ll find him tomorrow…typing a letter to Santa!

If I were a Pilgrim

This morning – the kids were so excited to eat the marshmallows Ralphie brought back from the North Pole to build his snowman with!  All before breakfast and school.  Crawford told me they were much better than our marshmallows because they were frozen.  Hated to burst his bubble and tell him – nope, not frozen – they are stale.

I picked up Con’s schoolwork today and there was a handout – If I Were a Pilgrim.  She would, “Wear a belt and shoes; live in a boat; play with toys; and shoot cows and elephants.”  Priceless.

Visiting Santa!

It took the kids like 50 guesses before they figured out Ralphie was in the fridge!  They laughed so hard.

After decorating outside in frigid temps – we napped and then got “dressed” again to go see Santa.  I may be old fashioned – but kids need their Sunday clothes on to go visit with the Big Man.  Love Con’s smocked number!

They were both SO excited.  Crawford told him he wanted a b0w & arrow and straight yellow flat Legos like at school.   Conlee wants a pink bracelet, necklace and crown.

The kids got a free dippin dots with their visit – so of course we had to have that!

Love that they love seeing Santa.  Brings back so many memories of Matt and me when we were little Smile  Brother & Sister – nothing better!

The kids had a blast coloring the coloring books Santa gave them.  Crawford (below left) Conlee (below right).

After we put the kids to bed, Bo, Scooby and I went to admire our handiwork!

Speaking of handiwork – look at the cute advent calendar I made the kids.  1/2 are filled with candy; 1/2 with trinkets.  Can’t wait till December 1!

And I can’t post without showing you Ralphie – he made a marshmallow snowman!

Traditions are Fun!

Not 100% sure when this tradition started – but the Saturday after Thanksgiving we hit the movies and have shrimp-in-the-pot on the Spode Christmas china.  This year – we saw no reason why we should break with tradition.

Before we got to the theater (went to see the Muppets), we ran into Santa, the Star Wars promo and the Chipmunks.  Kids were going bonkers.  The movie was SO good.  Loved all of the 80’s references Smile

When we got home – the kids were so excited that Santa had sent them a video.  He knew their names, their ages and had pics as recent as Wednesday on the square.  They couldn’t believe that he really watches them!  Bo said it’s a bit mean that they are such believers now that they will be CRUSHED in a few years.  Huge thank you to Christina Knight for the tip!

Ralphie is Back!

A big thank you to Amanda for the best Christmas gift years ago – the Elf on the shelf!  Our elf is Ralphie.  The kids were so excited to see him this morning!  I will admit – I totally caught Con “touching” him mid-morning.   Thank goodness for marketing – and the new Elf on the Shelf movie!  Read on for details.

It was just one of those lazy mornings.  Bo had to work (and YES it’s the biggest game in recent Razorback history).  So when the kids asked for cheesecake for breakfast – it sounded good to me!

What’s better than cheesecake for breakfast?

A pallet to watch Beauty and the Beast Christmas movie!

078

The kids were bummed they had to nap before the game started.

Uncle Matt and Scoobie were not sad a bit Smile  Despite a disappointing loss – what a great Razorback football season.

We had a great night – Wing Stop for dinner.  Man, the calories – they just keep a commin!  And then it happened.  The Elf on the Shelf movie came on.  The kids were glued to it.

Side note – check out how long Con’s hair is getting!

What an instant classic this movie is.  Con immediately apologized for taking Ralphie’s magic and swore up and down she’d NEVER do it again.

I’m lovin’ Pintrest and the great Elf ideas.  You know I had to start with Ralphie swinging from the ceiling fan since Con’s “belief” gave him his magic back.  Can’t wait to try all of the cute ideas.
