Grand Prix

The CARE initiative is a big part of who SSX is.  It represents our core values – helping kids in NWA.  I was lucky enough to get to work on Amanda’s silent auction committee this year.  It was a ton of work – but so much fun.  Sue-Sue kept the kids Friday so that I could help with set-up.  We raised $12,000 for the children of NWA!  It was a great party.

The event was Saturday.  We went for a run in the morning and Crawford insisted we get out and see the hay that was in a field!

By the time I got in the shower Babe was here.  Do the math – she was here by 9:45 am!  Man, that’s leaving Twist early.

The BIG event was the Grand Prix race.  It was FREE to the public and so much fun.  Glad my mom got to meet some of my co-workers.

Crawford got a race car on his face with a 3.5 because he proudly proclaimed he is 3 and a half.

Con got a flower.

Crawford and Cole got to drive the remote control cars.  Conlee wanted to join them so bad!

Leave it to kids – their favorite thing was racing the cars on the bleachers – NOT watching the go-karts!

The kids really lucked out – the ice cream man made a final lap around the neighborhood.  Love that Crawford picked Spiderman and Con picked Batman.

It’s a headband kind of day

Bo got Conlee dressed for school this morning.  She FREAKED out asking to wear a headband.  She’s never worn one.  But- man I love it.  She was adorable.

Yes, my kids eat so much breakfast that they take leftovers on the way to school.

Hello 83 Degrees

It’s amazing how 85 degrees can feel like FALL!  The weather was amazing today.  We spent all day out back and even made a trip to the park.  Have I mentioned how thankful I am to have a job that allows me to spend time with my family?  I am truly blessed by SSX!

Crawford is gearing up for soccer season – so we had to take some balls to practice our skills.  I will go on record – that I may (no I know I’m not) not be the best coach.  I don’t even know the rules!

We had snack time in our “hiding spot” under the slides.  It was Crawford’s idea!

Look closely at the pic below.  Can you see the eyes peeping out at you?

Love these pics of Crawford!

Conlee is such a dare-devil!  Crawford was the same way at this age.

When we got home – we drew a sidewalk chalk city on the patio!

I was pretty impressed that Crawford did all of the hash lines by himself.  What a great day!

Bye-Bye

It’s so hard to say goodbye.  Leaving Jonesboro was our official end to summer.  Can’t wait to see these guys again.

The kids bunked up and watched movies all morning!

We tried so hard to get a kids pic.

072

Tell me why we didn’t try to get the “friends” pic the night before when we were dressed and had on make-up (well at least Megan has on the dress from the night before!).

I LOVE Holt’s hair in the pic above.  I love these people like they are family.  Can’t wait for them to come see us in NWA.
