Tailgate Time

You could literally feel it in the air this morning – it’s game time!  We all put on our Hog gear and went for a run with the jogging stroller.  Crawford and Conlee each carried their footballs with them – how many times do you think we stopped to pick them up????

At the VERY last minute – we decided to go early and tailgate.  We’d already planned to take the kids, so we called J-J and Sue-Sue and the party was set.  The weather was perfect.  We got a nice shady spot and it was game time!

Can I go ahead and admit that one reason I was so excited for the kids to go to the game was to show of Con’s dress.  Babe and Dale made it – can you get over how cute it is????  If you want one – e-mail me.

The kids favorite part – putting rocks in cups and throwing them into the grass!

Oh, the also liked the food!  Especially the cookie cake.

Megan was in town – so she and Holly stopped by!  So fun.  We got NO iPhone reception which was tragic.  Thankfully they found us.

We headed to the garden’s to look for Meliss – the kids wanted to see their cousins.

Man, it’s funny how the pic below reminds me so much of Melissa, Sebree and myself.  If only Mel was there :)

Seriously, this could be Melissa and me about 32 years ago!

t2

Presley was so good with Crawford.  They played football the whole time.

So, we probably made a mistake by taking the kids to the first game.  What am I going to tell them from here on out when they have a sitter and mon & dad are going to tailgate and to the game :)  So glad to have friends and family to celebrate with.  Next post – Game Time Baby!

Friday Fun

Bless you Lord for an amazing day with my kiddos.  First up, a trip to the gym.  Followed by, an easy trip to Wal-Mart; a BAD trip to the Big Red on 6th Street (don’t go there!); followed with a great trip to Hog Heaven at Bud Walton (for sure go there!).  Before heading home – a drop in on Bo at the bank.

Next up – a picnic lunch.  Yes, you are seeing right – dinosaur and heart sandwiches.  I love a sandwich cutter!

After nap – it was PROJECT time.  Lu-lu’s birthday is on Sunday.  We decided to make her a card.  Not sure where I got the “inspiration” am pretty sure I stole this from some place.  Either way – it was so cute.  The kids did their hand prints on the inside…

 168

…dipping was their favorite part.

170

Then I painted a message.

171

The kids made their own “special” card for her while I worked on the pic above.

169

Love to watch the lefty in action.

172 173

The most exciting part of the project – cleaning the brushes!

174 175

When the inside finished drying – Crawford and Con helped me do polka dots on the outside.  I tied it up with a big bow.  I know Lu-lu is going to love it.

176

But, she make like this one even more – the kids’ masterpiece.  Complete with Crawford’s happy birthday (d,i,c,f,c).

177

Taylor came over to play when she got home from school.  Con loved showing off her snowboots!

Washington County Fair

It’s that time again – the Washington County Fair is in town! We met the Rogers’ and had a blast. I think Crawford wants to be a Carney when he grows up.

Love that the kids love Pronto-Pups – but Crawford picks off the dough just to get to the dog!

135

First up was the carousel.

Next, Dumbo.

Bo went to find Cole and Cade and this is where he found us. On our 2nd roller coaster ride! All 3 of us smashed into 1 seat.

Fair 4

Con rode with her hands in the air and yelled “whoooooo” the entire time. Despite the face below (?), Crawford loved it too!

We found the Rogers’ and hit the Flinstones.

They let Con ride with a parent. Bo got the short straw!

144 145

They made him ride the rollercoaster with Cole and Crawford. That was a tight squeeze.

148

One nice Carney let Cade ride too. Love it!

Another ride!

Then it was the Momma’s turn. Amanda and I braved the tilt-a-world. We are both so competitive. We got 4 turns on each spin!

They shared their tickets so we could ride 2 more rides before the rain came!

The “grand” finale – Cole and Crawford on the tea cups. Might not be the manliest of rides – but I thought they looked so grown up all by themselves!

We got a funnel cake to go and bolted for the car to escape the lightening/rain! What fun times with great friends.

Chutes-n-Ladders

A few weeks back Amanda mentioned that she’d gotten Cole a board game.  So on our weekly stock-up trip to WM – we picked up a game.  Crawford picked out Chutes-n-Ladders (I pressed for Candy Land but he said it was for girls).  We played a while, but I will say Conlee is no fun.  She took the pieces apart and made Crawford MAD.  I put her down for nap and we got 2 good games in before his nap time.  It’s a great game – we practiced counting, patience and rule following.  LOVE it!

129 130

While on the topic of “big” boys and girls – they got to eat lunchables for lunch.  They loved it.  Con went straight for the Oreo – but Crawford followed the rules and finished all of his before devouring the cookies.

Hate that they aren’t babies anymore, but REALLY loving the “big” kid thing.  Next year will be so fun.  I envision lots of Chutes-n-Ladders and hopefully some Candy Land too!
