Gulley Park with family and friends!

I’ve mentioned how much I LOVE the concert series at Gulley.  Tonight was even better because our entire family met the Rogers’ for a picnic dinner!

When I told Crawford we were going to the park – he insisted he bring his guitar.  Apparently Cole and Crawford talked about at school because they were both so excited.  How funny is it that Crawford is definitely a “lefty” – look at the way he’s playing his guitar!

The boys went to play catch – and Conlee got her chance to jam.

The boys decided to take their act to the stage!  Of course – they were adorable and everyone LOVED watching them.  The band even gave them stickers to put on their guitars!

Honestly, one of the best nights ever.  So blessed to live in a wonderful city – with family-friendly activities!  So glad all of the Grandparent’s got to see the kids having so much fun with their friends.

Snow Cones!

After dinner, Bo had a great idea – we went for snow cones.  Seems like this year, there’s a stand on every corner.  Lucky for us – there’s one right up the road from us.  Rookie mistake – ordered cherry for Con and banana for Crawford.  They both just wanted what the other had.  Even when they “switched” they weren’t happy.  From here on out – everyone gets the same flavor!

Trust me – the $2.50 for the “flower” cup – was definitely worth it.  Especially when they wanted to finish them in the car.  It really did catch lots of dribbles :)

Sprinkler time

While we took Conlee to Little Rock on Friday, Sue-Sue kept Crawford.  He “rooked” her into buying him the full Iron Man costume.  He wore it all day yesterday and this is what came to breakfast this morning!

My kids might be “shrimps” but the one meal they can eat you out of house and home on – is breakfast!  We took a “skip” day on church this morning – and I made scrambled eggs with sausage.  We ate 10 eggs between us!

After a lazy breakfast – it was time to be productive and get some yard work done.  Cracked me up to see all 3 of them mowing!

You know it’s summer time – when you have to un-winterize the sprinkler system!  The kids LOVED running through it.  Literally played in it for an hour!

My tom-boy.  She has a screwdriver and is “fixing” the sprinkler box.

After nap, we hit the dragon again (thinking you will get tired of these pics soon!).  Crawford did get inventive and turned the slide into a space ship!

Swim Ranch

Memorial Day 2010 074

Today was our first “family” lesson at Swim Ranch!  That’s right – all 4 of us in the pool together :)  Bo took Crawford and I had Conlee.  We were both shocked at how great they both did.  The water felt great and the kids loved using their swim buoys.  Conlee was the most surprising – the teachers used her as the “demo” a few times and she loved it!  Crawford was even dog paddling all by himself.  I cant’ believe that next year Crawford will be a “lane” swimmer and be in the water all by himself.

We are taking every Saturday for 5 weeks.  I’ll keep you posted on progress :)  Crawford has some work to do on his “form” because right now he’s not looking like the future Michael Phelps – ha!

Arkansas Children’s Hospital – Round 2

Today was the day I’ve been dreading for 2 weeks.  We had to take Conlee to Children’s for her 2nd cf test.  Crawford stayed with Sue-Sue while we made the down there and back again in 1 day.

You forget what an amazing place it is.  It is truly built around Children.  Conlee had a blast – before her treatment!

It was awful!  I had to hold her down for 5 minutes while she got an electric shock.  Before you even think it – no I wasn’t the mom taking pics of my child while she was crying.  This was 20 minutes after and she was still tuned up.  I held her down and she was MAD at me.  Wouldn’t even come to me.

We decided to show her the facilities while we had to wait on her to sweat.

She made a friend on the playground.  You literally thank God every time you see a child who is admitted here.  It was so emotional for me.  I felt right at home, afterall – I spent 9 days living here.  But, it brought back all of the emotions I’ve buried since our time here.  I forget that I thought she’d die.  I forget the feeding tube; the constant e-rays; the sleepless nights where Bo and I literally cried all night.  Amazing how our minds cope with the tragedies in our lives.  But being back here brought it all back.

We left being told that we wouldn’t have results until Monday.  But by the grace of God, they called only 30 minutes after we were on the road home and said Conlee was negative for cystic fibrosis.  Thank God!!!!  God is good and does work miracles.  We have one more blood test next week and if all is clear there – we are done and it’s official – she’s just a little bit!

Walking Tall

Memorial Day 2010 068Memorial Day 2010 069

The ubiquitous shot of the toddler in high heals.  I love this one because she was having trouble, and Crawford came to the rescue!  I think he was glad she wasn’t in his shoes for once – ha!

Gogurt

The name and idea of gogurt kind of makes me sick.  But, when you freeze them – they became delicious, creamy, healthy popsicles!
