Girl’s Weekend; Kid Weekend

Friday morning – I once again turned to Nick Jr to give me a “project.”  I needed the kids occupied because I had to pack for my girl’s trip!

I printed out a color by number t-rex poster.  Was pretty impressed that with no help – Crawford did a great job with his numbers!

Apparently, this could have used a little more supervision because I found Con with her face completely colored.

Crawford said his t-rex could use a bit more.  Here’s what he came up with.  Much better!

Bo, Matt, J-J and Sue-Sue all pitched in so that I could “run away” to Little Rock for a weekend filled with good food, good shopping and great friends.  I’ll tell you – it did wonders to recharge my batteries.  I had an amazing time – but will say – I drove a bit fast today as I raced home to see my family!

Thank goodness for technology.  Bo sent me texts all weekend so I could see the fun.

Friday night – Crawford had his “welcome” party for soccer.  He got a REAL uniform and is on the Earthquakes!

Bo then took him for a “guy’s” night at Feltner’s!

We took 1 pic all weekend.  Earnie Bigg’s was a wee-bit smoky Smile

Saturday while I shopped – Bo took the kids to soccer, to a movie and to the mall.  This morning he even braved church by himself.  TOTALLY impressed!

A huge thanks to my amazing hubby and my amazing friends!

Busy, Fun, Amazing Day: Part 4

The F-U-N didn’t stop there – I put the kids in their wet suits straight in the car and we headed to the Lee’s for dinner.

The kids loved Garon’s slide!

751

I personally enjoyed the views.  I am always amazed at how gorgeous this place is!

Sorry Al – we got out every raft, rocket, toy they had!

756757

Mellow Mushroom was for din!

758

We wrapped up our busy, fun, amazing day with an outdoor shower!  I’m worn out – and I know the kids are too.  This has just been one of those zero melt down – fun, fulfilling days that you dream of!

Thank you God for the time I get to spend with my family and friends.  On the days that aren’t so “perfect” please let me remember that they do come and to have the patience to wait for them Smile

Busy, Fun, Amazing Day: Part 3

By the 3rd part of our day – we were done with “learning” and “projects” and wanted nothing but F-U-N!  We met the Rogers’ at the Club.  Again – we were the only ones there!

Not sure this was the best idea – letting them jump off onto the kick boards  - but they loved it.

740

I could just eat Cade with a spoon.  He’s at that perfect, fun age!

741

Apparently, Crawford agrees Smile

742

We had to have a push-up break!

Love this crew!

Busy, Fun, Amazing Day: Part 2

As well as doing something “educational” with the kids – I’ve vowed to get out and do more in NWA.  There are amazing FREE programs for kids that I never take advantage of.  Today we ventured out to Little Sprouts at the Botanical Garden’s.

The kids loved it.  Each week there’s a new theme.  Today was “weather” which was perfect because last night it stormed here and both of my kids are terrified of thunder.  There was story time.

Then there was even a craft.  The kids made wind catchers!

I couldn’t believe how well they turned out!  I also couldn’t believe how many kids were there.

689

Con loved “flying” hers.

692

Of course, we had to go explore the gardens.  Am a bit embarrassed that I’ve only been out here 1 time – when Conlee was a baby.  It was such a hit with the kids that we’ll be back!

They loved the koi pond.

690

We learned a lot in the vegetable garden.  Because yes, their tomato plants actually have tomatoes on them (unlike ours at home).

696

Crawford and his amazing memory – actually remembered the chickens!  He wasn’t even 2 the last time we were here!

698

There are tons of “little” doors and paths for the kids to really explore and wander through.

701

They were running and laughing!

702

Dinosaur bridge.

The all time favorite – the echo tree!  We hung out there for quite a bit.

Then they found the train!

Con loved the caterpillar.

722

I will say by this time it was getting HOT.  A kid that was playing on the train was having a snack.  Crawford said, “I sure do wish we had a snack and something to drink.”  What does he think this is – amateur hour?  Of course I had snacks and drinks.  So we found a shaded, secluded swing and snacked.  Next time we go – I’ll pack a picnic lunch.

725

Right when we got home – we HAD to hang our wind catchers.  They wanted them out front so Daddy could see them when he got home!
