I wanna play too!

When Crawford asked where Daddy was tonight, I explained that Daddy had to work late. No way was I telling him that Bo was playing in a golf tournament and would pretty much be MIA from tonight through the weekend. Apparently Crawford thinks Bo works at a golf course, because when he discovered that Bo's golf bag wasn't in the garage - he pitched a fit. "I wanna play too!" Over and over. He put his glove on and showed me just how much he wanted to play. Can't wait for the first father/son tournament!

On the MOVE!

That's right - Conlee started crawling on Wednesday. I was at the computer getting some work done while Crawford napped and I heard lots of huffing and puffing. I turned around to see Conlee on the move. I grabbed the video camera and literally caught her first crawl on tape. I tried to then get a few pics, but wasn't as successful.

Can you tell that her left leg is in "position" ready to push-up and take off? She kicks her left leg high in the air as she pushes with her right foot. It's hilarious. Maybe she'll be a ballerina?
All that hard work sure makes a baby tired. I just want to curl up next to her!She got all of the way across the room to her "basket" of fun.
When Crawford got up - it was snack time. Baby Mum-Um for baby; cracker for toddler.Later that day I heard some banging. This is what I found. She was stuck under the coffee table.
Our "honeymoon" is over! Things are about to get really interesting with both kids on the move. You really forget just how dirty your floors are until you have your precious child picking up dried, crusty food and fuzz balls!

Jellyfish!

Much of Wednesday morning looked just like the above - play time in our jammies. I was sick on Monday and Tuesday - so I wanted to take it "easy" on Wednesday. But, you know Crawford - if we are home - he wants a project. So after quickly trying to think of something "relevant" I thought we'd focus on things we are going to see at the beach. So - here is our "attempt" at making jellyfish out of coffee filters and tissue paper.
I taught him to scream "JELLYFISH" when he sees one. I found a cute song on-line and we ran around screaming and singing for a solid hour. Let's hope he doesn't try to pick one up on the beach. If he's like me - he's going to get the "pleasure" of meeting one the minute he steps foot in the ocean.

I wish I would have...

...put Crawford's "baby" toys up earlier! For anyone planning to have kids "close together" in age - I strongly advise to put the first kid's "baby toys" up as soon as they loose interest!

I pulled out the "stage" for Conlee to play with and she absolutely loved it.
But, that didn't last long. Crawford barged in, "That's mine!" Technically he is correct. He got this for his first Christmas. But, I don't think he's played with it in over a year! But, I mistakenly left it out in the bottom of his closet.

So this is Crawford "teaching" Conlee how to use it.
Crawford taking over.
Conlee having enough of this and "pushing" her way back to the toy. Let the wrestling match begin!
I quickly try the "re-direct" technique and pull out the sit-n-spin. This is how things lasted for about 2 minutes.
Then we were back to, "No Conkey - those are my toys. I show you how to use them. I play with them. I share them. I want them. Etc."
Again, should have put these things up a long time ago because I really think if they would have been out-of-sight - he would have had no issues at all. You know what they say about hindsight!

I go to Jonesboro! I DDDOOOO!!!!

We had one of the BEST weekends this past weekend! We loaded up the car and took out on the 5 hour trip to J-town to visit Megan, Joe, Gracie, Holt and Stella! I literally met Megan the first day we moved into the Hump Dump - and she's been a best friend to me ever since. This was the first time that we've gotten us all together and it was so much fun. Literally we had 6 kids and 6 adults all at the swimming pool on Saturday and we didn't have one melt down or one issue! Unbelievable.

Bo and I are seriously considering telling the kids that Jonesboro is "Walt Disney World" and making this our annual summer trip. In between the wonderful accommodations, the swimming pool, the yummy food, the delicious frozen drinks, staying up late watching movies, the playhouse, the "big" kid toys, the ride-on toys - I can't imagine that Disney would have been much better! I keep telling Joe that I'm gonna rent him a mouse costume next summer :)

Holt and Crawford taking a ride in the Jeep. This thing goes so fast that the kids have to wear their seat belts. I had to "let it go" and just let Crawford scream and giggle.
Them playing "chicken" with Gracie on her scooter. Honestly - no plant was safe. They would run over anything that was in their way.
Gracie, the "babysitter."
Can you beat this pic?Conlee had her own Disney - named Stella! Stella is just 2 weeks younger than Con. Tons of toys and pacis to steal from each other and Stella is crawling and pulling up! Am sure that Con learned some new tricks.
The babysitter just taking care of one of the kids.
Conlee's first swing set ride. Can you tell she loved it?
Yes the boys had matching swimsuits. And yes, Holt taught Crawford how to climb up the slide!
What do you do after an evening of swimming and rough-housing? You take a bath - all together!
Conlee and Stella had to get in on the action. I will say - this was extremely efficient!
Night-night kisses.
Crawford watching Bolt. Did I mention that they basically own Blockbuster? Again, Heaven for kids.Another great thing about J-town - Babe and Pops are only 45 minutes away. They came up on Saturday and spent the day and night with us. Megan has been part of our family since day one and it was so nice of her to welcome my family into her home.

This was lunch time. All I can say is that the pimento cheese in last month's Southern Living is amazing. Also, Megan made the best salsa I've ever eaten. Again, not sure I'd be spoiled like this at Disney?
Mom and Crawford clowning in the pool.
Another great thing about Babe and Pops - they bring home aid ice cream :)Conlee seriously wanting some "cream."
School was in session in the playhouse!
Can pretty much guarantee Bo wouldn't be this relaxed at Disney. I think he fell asleep like this!Saying goodbye on Sunday was really hard! Can you tell that neither Holt or Crawford was ready to get out of the Jeep? We spent 5 hours on the trip home with Crawford saying, "I wanna go to Jonesboro! I DDDDOOOO!!!"
We are both such moms now - the only pic we got of Megan and me together was saying goodbye with not a lick of makeup on!
Crawford (2), Gracie (7), Stella (8 mths), Holt (4), Conlee (8 mths)
Did I mention that it was at least as good as Disney? Crawford even got "souvenirs." He "bought" one of Holt's garage sale toys!!!!

Megan - thank you for being such an amazing friend. You were an incredible host and I loved that it was as if we see each other daily. I love your family and feel so blessed to call you a friend!

Case solved

Camera cord was found mixed in with all of the ipod stuff! So - get ready - lots of posts to come!

Missing Cord

So, you've probably wondered where we've been! I lost my camera cord - so I am unable to download pics. I am about to die!!!! I have so many adorable pics from our trip to visit Joe and Megan. I just ordered a replacement cord - so should be back up and running in a few days.
In the mean time, I've had a headache that just won't go away. So, from Sunday to date - I haven't done much but sit quietly in the dark. Talked to the doctor today and we think we've got a solution. Fingers crossed that we'll be back in picture posting action by this weekend.

Crawford's a FISH!

We met Cole at the pool this afternoon. After a Puff Corn break, Crawford really got his swim on! He loves the 2 1/2 ft. pool because he can touch. To my dismay, he decided he did NOT need to wear his swim vest. Not only did he not need the vest - but he found a BIG batch of courage. He would jump to me from the sides of the pool (without holding fingers) and would go under! He put his face in, blew bubbles and kicked his feet. He was quite the fish. Which is great since the beach is in our very near future! I can't wait to see him play in the waves.
