Thursday at Home

After being gone from Sunday – Wednesday, my boss was nice enough to give me today off.  So – I started the Memorial Day weekend off a day early – lucky me :)  We made a much needed trip to Target.

Below is what your kids do with their icee’s while you are unloading the car!

Conlee got a “free” pair of Dora sunglasses in her box of pull-ups.  Her favorite thing ever!

After nap, we plugged in the hose and got our play on!  Nothing cuter than a watermelon fringed swimsuit :)

Crawford would spray the slide and Conlee would literally fly down.

I made the mistake of snack time out back.  Which led to Conlee’s favorite saying, “Wrigley bite me.”  He didn’t really bite her – but he did take the cheese puff right out of her hand.  So…

…we moved to the garage!

I stripped them down and found them like this.  They both have books reading.  It was so quite – I couldn’t believe it.

Portofino Bay

When you have to travel for work, it sure is nice when you get to go “nice” places.  I’d seen Portofino Bay, Orlando on the travel channel and was pretty excited.  It was nice and was great for the conference, but in reality it wasn’t as “great” as it looks on tv.  It was a touch cheesy (think Paris in LV).

  Orlando30

On Tuesday afternoon, we ended at 4:15 and I was by the pool at 4:30 :)  The pool by far was the best part of the entire resort.

The one downside to the pool were the “tame” squirrels.  The one above was munching on french fries and was not scared to run across my back!  But, a few frozen beverages made it funny not scary :)  We only got about 2 hours of pool time (and yes it was 6:30 when we left) but it was definitely a “perk.”

Sick Baby

Of course, when I’m out of town, one of the kids had to get sick.  Bo tried to drop Con at school this morning and was “denied” thanks to a horrible rash (see below).  After a quick “sick” visit – the docs determined it was just her getting over a virus from the weekend.  But, of course – Bo had to stay home with her.

The one good thing was that we had not heard back from her test results.  Bo pressed the doctor and he was super helpful.  Turns out that we need to take Con to Arkansas Children’s Hospital for another cystic fibrosis test :(  I am so sad and wish I was there to hug and kiss on her.  Also, her white cell count was off (which they think was a result of her coming down with the aforementioned virus) – but we’ll have to get more blood drawn in 2 weeks.  Trying to stay positive – but really freaked out.  Not even 100% sure what cf is????

Thank goodness for my wonderful hubby – who handled all of this with such ease.  Can’t wait to get home tomorrow!

Circus, Circus!

orlando12 orlando11

The circus came to town and J-J, Sue-Sue and Bo decided to treat the kids.  Turned out that the “free” kids admission was made up by the $20 souvenirs they had to have :)  Bo said it was about 100 degrees and dusty (it was at the fair grounds in a barn!).  Oh well – the kids had fun (can’t say the same for the adults.

Naturals Game

I had to leave early this morning to travel once again for work.    I won’t be back until after the kids are in bed on Wednesday!!!!  At least the destination was Orlando.  While I have 3 full days of conferences to attend – am desperately hoping for a little pool time!

Bo is such a great Dad.  He took Crawford and J-J to the Naturals game this afternoon.  Thank goodness for iPhones and texting.  Here are the pics I received.

Bo was excited to report that Crawford “smoked” it again!  He literally hit another home run!  I think we’ve got a player on our hands.

Tickle - Tickle

Some Saturday’s just call for skipping the gym and hitting the donut shop!

 004

Conlee didn’t eat hers – she just licked the the chocolate off!

005 008

Cracks me up that she has to do whatever her brother does.  Good thing he has 2 Cubs hats.

010

Once again it was watermelon time.  Uncle Matt and Bo stripped them down before serving – very smart!

011 014

As we were eating, we heard the sirens and the “chief” calling.  All of a sudden, Bo flies down the drive on Crawford’s fire truck.  Crawford has never laughed so hard (I’m sure the neighbors got in a good laugh too!).

021

Well, it’s that time of year again – watering – uuuugggghhhh!  I love the beauty of planted flowers – but hate watering.  The kids helped me and without their shirts on – they got a kick out of the plants tickling their bellies.  Now – I might like watering a little more if I can hear those sweet giggles!

Friday on the Steps

Today was on of those days – very productive but very fun too!  We started at the gym with a much needed workout!  Next stop, Lowe’s (I haven’t even put one flower out yet!).  Mission today was to at least get the front done.  Crawford was a big helper, he carried the flats of impatients.

Next stop, the farmer’s stand.  We got a watermelon, tomatoes and a cantaloupe.

As soon as we got home, Crawford begged for some watermelon.  We ate half of it!

This started our day on the front steps.  While I planted the front pots, the kids ate lunch on the steps.

While Crawford took a nap, I had to take Conlee to the hospital to get some tests run.  In the pic below she was excited because the table was a fire truck.  About 5 minutes after this, not so happy.  She had to have a cystic fibrosis test and a LOT of blood drawn.  I was a bit discouraged because the tech said the cf test was an “inconclusive” number – whatever that means!  I’ll hear from the doctor on Monday.

After a much needed nap, Taylor came to play.  We heard the ice cream “van” as Crawford calls him – and literally chased him.  We ended up with Shrek bars!

They were such a sticky mess – that we stripped them down!  They stayed like this for the rest of the day/night!

Conlee is such a tom-boy.  If it weren’t for her curls, I’d swear the pic above was Crawford :)
